Sourcing and acceptance
Spill Pallet RFQ Checklist: Compare Suppliers and Plan Acceptance
Two quotations for a four-drum spill pallet can describe materially different products. The lowest unit price may omit grating, use different loading assumptions or require a different packing plan. A structured RFQ makes those differences visible before the purchase order is issued.
Separate mandatory requirements from preferences
List container geometry, maximum filled mass, approved chemical exposure, required usable sump volume and intended handling as mandatory technical inputs. Keep preferences such as colour or branding in separate fields. Identify which details still need supplier confirmation.
Add the destination, use location and site requirements. If the project asks for a particular standard or test, identify the document and its relevant scope. A broad request for an EPA-certified pallet or universal chemical approval is not a precise acceptance criterion.

Use a model-by-model comparison sheet
| RFQ field | Supplier response to obtain |
|---|---|
| Geometry | Model code, drawing revision and container support layout |
| Containment | Usable volume and basis for the stated figure |
| Loading | Static/dynamic conditions and permitted handling method |
| Materials | Body, grating, fittings and application limitations |
| Delivery | Included parts, packing dimensions and delivery basis |
| Acceptance | Documents, sample scope and agreed inspection criteria |
Compare offered model code, drawing revision, overall dimensions, deck dimensions, usable volume, material specification, component list and load conditions. Record deviations explicitly. Do not leave a blank field to be interpreted as agreement.
Ask suppliers to state whether figures are measured, tested, calculated or indicative. Where a report is supplied, check that it applies to the offered model and configuration. A certificate for a different product family does not resolve a missing requirement.
Agree what a sample will demonstrate
Define the sample review before ordering: fit with the intended containers, access to the grating, dimensional checks, accessory completeness and documentation. A sample can expose practical problems but does not by itself establish performance for an entire production lot.
Any load, retention or chemical-resistance testing needs an agreed method, suitable facilities and qualified supervision. Do not improvise hazardous chemical trials or load tests at receiving. Ask what evidence already exists and what additional verification the project requires.
Make the packing and delivery basis explicit
Request packaged dimensions, gross weight, nesting or stacking instructions for shipment, protective packing and the unloading requirements. Distinguish empty shipping arrangements from permission to stack loaded pallets in service.
Compare prices on the same delivery basis with accessories, packing, inspection and destination costs identified. Container loading quantities depend on the confirmed model and packing arrangement; do not use an indicative website quantity as a shipment guarantee. Confirm lead time, minimum order quantity and availability in the actual quotation.
Define acceptance and replacement support
The purchase order should reference approved drawings, configuration, inspection criteria, packaging and the process for resolving nonconformities. Agree how model identification is retained and whether replacement grating, plugs or seals can be sourced later.
Zhuji Trading works as a sourcing and supplier-coordination partner. We can help collect model information, discuss samples and inspection requirements, and coordinate packing and export communication. We do not replace the buyer site assessment or treat a supplier statement as a universal compliance guarantee. A complete RFQ lets the technical reviewer and purchasing team assess the same configuration.
